Guardian Medical Monitoring is a Division of Guardian Alarm Company, which is a family-owned business that was established over seventy-eight years ago in Detroit, Michigan. Milton Pierce, our founder, is in his nineties and is still very active in both his personal and business life.

Several years ago, Milton began selling and monitoring pull cords. As he observed and experienced the graying of America, he came to the realization that the alarm technology that kept himself and his customers safe over the years could very well keep them independent and able to live longer, if not forever in the homes they love. So it was with that purpose in mind that he first introduced Guardian Medical Monitoring in 1998.

The alarm technology has advanced tremendously over the years and Guardian Alarm is always on the cutting edge. Guardian Medical Monitoring utilizes our many years of alarm technology and has married them to the healthcare needs of the population. Over the last several years, Guardian Medical Monitoring has not only emerged as the fastest growing personal emergency response provider in the United States, it has also broadened its product lines to include many devices and services that support life safety, security and senior independence.

Guardian Medical Monitoring is a HIPAA compliant provider. We shred all discarded client information or duplicates. The Guardian Medical Monitoring Staff is trained on HIPAA and other related state policies and requirements. We have several policies on quality assurance along with one of our standard forms where the client is asked to fill out their evaluation of our service on the pre-paid postage card and return to our office.

Our clients are primarily older adults who live alone. We also serve the needs of the clients with early dementia and people in the Community Mental Health arena with our medication organizer, and Guardian’s patented "Virtually There Care" video systems.
